As the afternoon storms move through southeast Texas, high water locations are causing rush hour headaches.
According to the National Weather Service, a portion of the intersection of I-45 and 61st Street is closed in Galveston due to high water. The Bolivar Ferry had temporarily halted operations for a short time. They've now restored two boats to service.
Students in Texas City were sheltered in place as classes were being dismissed for the day, as a tornado warning was in effect for their area at that time. Some of the school district phones lost service, and, once students were released, buses are running behind. All after school programs are cancelled for Texas City ISD.
Buses in Clear Creek ISD are running behind after storms dumped plenty of water in a short time.
