Houston weather: Drying out tonight

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Periods of heavy rain and a few strong storms created some rush hour havoc this morning.

Downed tree branches were a threat around Houston. At least one house fire was sparked as a result.

Chief Meteorologist Travis Herzog says after a final band of rain blows through this evening, we will dry out in a beautiful way through Easter weekend.

Temperatures in the morning will get a little chilly, especially Saturday, which Travis says may be our last dip into the 40s until next fall. We won't have to worry about any serious weather until next Wednesday when another Pacific storm system swings into Texas.
