Man hit and killed while trying to fix wrecked car on Gulf Fwy

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- A driver was killed after he got out of his wrecked car on the Gulf Freeway near El Dorado Tuesday night.

Police say he lost control trying to avoid a car that spun out on the icy road and ended up crashing into a concrete barrier.

When he got out of his vehicle to try to repair it, another car hit the ice, slid into the man and killed him.

That driver is not expected to be charged.
