Tropical Depression 11 has formed in the Atlantic

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Showers and thunderstorms located about 1000 miles east-southeast of the northern Leeward Islands has become Tropical Depression Eleven.

The system is expected to strengthen and become Tropical Storm Josephine as early as Thursday morning. The forecast keeps the system as a tropical storm as it moves near the Virgin Islands this weekend.

For now, this system is not expected to pose a threat to Texas or the Gulf of Mexico.
