HOUSTON WEATHER: Weekend rain chance rises ahead of rare July 'cool' front

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- It has been a hot and humid Saturday across Southeast Texas. A few pop up storms will be possible as we head into the early evening, but they should dissipate once the sun goes down.

More moisture is expected to stream in Sunday bringing rain chances up to 30%. The best chance of rain will be in the afternoon hours, but a couple of isolated showers in the morning cannot be ruled out.

A few changes are coming as we head into the work week. A weak cool front is expected to move towards the area on Tuesday. This will bring us a chance of scattered showers and storms and slightly cooler temperatures with highs in the 80s.

Drier air should move in behind the front lowering rain chances Wednesday and Thursday.
