HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- The inside of Vickie Walter's home doesn't have much room to relax. Most of her belongings, especially those usually kept in low cabinets, are sitting high on plastic fold-out tables.

Her home on Bramblewood Drive in the Westchester neighborhood has flooded more than once in the last year alone. ABC13 has previously reported on the compromised drainage system nearby. A fix for that is, at the very least, months away. It's a thought that's unsettling in light of the weekend forecast.

"We don't know what's going to happen Friday, and the way they're talking about the storm sitting over us," said Walter. "It's going to be similar to what happened to us with the Tax Day flood."

In Bear Creek Village, many residents have also experienced repeated flooding in recent years. Homeowner, Dennis Partin says this weekend will be an uncomfortable wait.

"You want to feel like your house is going to be secure and safe, and not flood, and we just don't have that luxury," he said.
