Bear cools off in California pools

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, CA -- Residents across Southern California are trying to beat the heat, and that includes one bear caught enjoying a couple pools in La Canada Flintridge.

"You never know who's going to come around the corner," said resident Ginny Pitchford.

Pitchford was inside when a bear walked by her patio door and decided to take a dip in her pool. She took photos of the bear soaking in the shallow end.

The bear didn't stay long. It made its way over to Elna Coetzee's house to chill in her pool for about 20 minutes.

"He was just lounging on the steps, and he was obviously having a relaxing, cooling off period," she said.
