There's sad news to pass along in the search for a missing Ft. Bend County woman whose vehicle was found submerged in flood water Tuesday.

The body of Alice Tovar was found around 6:45pm by her brother-in-law during a search for the 73-year-old. Texas Equusearch said her body was found near the command post.

"I'm glad we found her. We didn't have to leave her out there. It's a relief," said Ricky Aguilar, the brother-in-law.

Tovar's Crown Victoria had been found in the water near Gerken Road and Band Road in the Rosenberg area.

Tovar's daughter said she had received a call from her niece, who told her she'd not seen Tovar's car at her job. Tovar's daughter then tried to drive on Gerken Road, which is her mother's normal route, but couldn't due to high water. She said she did, however, see Tovar's vehicle in the ditch.

A passer-by jumped into the water to look inside the vehicle, but didn't see Tovar.

Tovar's daughter said her mother was possibly wearing a blue collar T-shirt with a Chevron logo on it, as well as black pants.

We're following this developing story and will post any new information as we get it.
