United Express plane forced to make emergency landing in College Station after leaving IAH

Flight from IAH makes it to Boise after being diverted to College Station

COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KTRK) -- A United Express flight that departed IAH was forced to make an emergency landing in College Station Thursday night after smoke was reported on board the aircraft.



The plane was headed to Boise, Idaho with 80 individuals on the plane.



The cause of the smoke has not been determined.



Full statement:


"United Express Flight 6266, bound for Boise, diverted to College Station shortly after takeoff due to a mechanical issue. The flight landed safely, and our customers will be boarding a new aircraft this evening to complete their journey. We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience."



The flight resumed its course, taking off from College Station at around 12:30 a.m. It landed in Boise around 3:45 a.m.
