Uber launches new 'Express Pool' service to compete against buses

Uber has launched a new service to compete against transit buses.

The new Express Pool service will allow customers to be paired with other nearby riders heading to destinations close to each other.

The Uber driver drops the passengers off near their final destinations, but not the traditional door-to-door service.

Uber says fares for Express Pool could be up to 75 percent lower than its Uber X service.
