HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Five loaded handguns and one set of throwing stars were confiscated at airport security checkpoints in Houston this week, according to the Transportation Security Administration.

Two incidents were at Houston Hobby, the other three at Bush Intercontinental.

In three of the cases, the guns were loaded and had a round chambered, the TSA said.

Another incident included at least four confiscated throwing stars.

Throwing stars aren't allowed in carry-on luggage.

You can travel with your guns in checked baggage, but they must first be declared to the airline, the TSA said.

No one was charged in the incidents, but penalties can go as high as $11,000.
