Carnival Cruise passengers stuck aboard ship in Galveston

The Port of Galveston was closed Saturday due to fog and several Carnival Cruise ships were forced to return to sea until weather permitted.

Carnival ships Valor and Freedom were scheduled to dock Saturday. Breeze was set to dock today, but was delayed hours while waiting on Valor and Freedom to empty.

They were able to dock Sunday, but Customs and Border Patrol aren't available until Monday.

The cruises that were scheduled to leave this weekend will have alternative itineraries to fit the shortened schedule. Those departing on the shorter trip were given a prorated refund or the option of cancelling without penalty.
