Imagine a ski slope right in the middle of a city - that's the vision of an architect in Kazakhstan.

His urban ski slope would descend from the top of a 21-story apartment building. It would measure 1,000 feet.

The slope would provide easy access for skiers and snowboarders in a place where people endure frigid winters.

Right now, they have to drive four hours to the nearest slope.

Local officials still need to approve the plan.
