Man struck by train in Conroe

CONROE, TX (KTRK) -- Authorities say a man sitting on the tracks was hit by a train in Conroe late Friday night.

It happened just before 9:45pm in the 1200 block of Santa Fe. Police officers found the man still alive near the train tracks.

According to police, the BNSF train conductor attempted to stop the train and signaled repeatedly, but the man did not move away from the tracks.

The victim suffered a broken leg and cut on his head. He was taken to Conroe Regional Medical Center and is listed in stable condition.
