HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Good news for drivers out in west Houston. All lanes of Highway 6 are now back open.

A stretch of the popular roadway -- between Clay and Park Row -- was closed after the Tax Day flood brought record-setting water levels to the Addicks Reservoir and flooded the highway.

About 49,000 drivers who used that route daily were forced to find an alternate route.

Earlier in the day Thursday, officials reopened North Eldridge Parkway from Dairy-Ashford to Clay Road.
