HOUSTON -- Driving to and from Pearland this weekend? Be prepared for major closures on Highway 288. Three out of four lanes will be blocked northbound between Highway 90 and Wheeler (adjacent to the US-59 interchange). The closure will allow TxDOT crews to repair the joints on the overhead bridges safely. The closure lasts from 9pm Friday (7/22) until 5am Monday (7/25). If you plan to drive to Houston from Pearland, use Almeda Road as an alternate route.

US-290 will be shut down outbound this weekend from Little York to FM-529. All traffic will be forced to detour to the feeder road lanes. The closures lasts all weekend - from 9pm Friday until 5am on Monday.

In the Pasadena area, the westbound lanes from Tidal to Beltway 8 East will be shut down. This is in addition to the continuous two-lane closure eastbound. Use Pasadena Boulevard as an alternate route. The total closure will last from 9pm Friday until 5am Monday.

In the Missouri City area, from 8pm Friday, July 22 to 5am Monday, July 25, State Highway 6 will be closed at the Fort Bend Toll Road for continued construction of the overpass project; crews will be welding all the diaphragms on the steel beams.

Frontage Roads and the intersection for Highway 6 and the Fort Bend Toll Road will remain open for traffic. All north- and southbound traffic will detour to the frontage roads during this time period.

The area will also be closed between the hours of 7 p.m. - 5 a.m. through July 31 for overhead construction. All traffic will again be detoured to the frontage roads.
