School bus involved in accident on SW Freeway

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A school bus carrying dozens of students was involved in an accident this afternoon.

The accident happened on the Southwest Freeway northbound at Hillcroft, at about 3:30pm. According to TxDOT, the Houston ISD bus was carrying 35 students, but HISD officials haven't confirmed that number. At least eight students are being examined by EMS crews.

The students are from Furr High School. The accident is under investigation.
