Man struck by 4 vehicles dies on North Freeway
Police say a pedestrian crossed several lanes of traffic and an HOV lane before they were fatally struck this morning

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The inbound lanes of the North Freeway have just reopened after a pedestrian was struck and killed, shutting down the highway for hours.

Investigators told Eyewitness News that a man walked across the northbound and HOV lanes, and ended up getting hit on the southbound lanes.

The victim was struck by four vehicles. The Mazda which struck the man first ended up with severe windshield damage after sending the man flying into the air.

The man was then struck by three other vehicles.

All the drivers involved did stop. Officers say field sobriety tests were performed at the scene, and at this point, the victim appears to be at fault.

The identity of the male victim, 50, is pending notification to family members
