Construction on 290 remains at a standstill
KTRK-KTRK

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Houston drivers can expect more possible delays on Houston Freeway projects, thanks to the company that suddenly stopped working on US-290 back in May.

Earlier this month, we told you about Tradeco, the company that quit working on part of Highway 290. Now, we have learned that the same company has pulled the plug on three other projects in the Houston area.

Tradeco had signed an agreement with TxDOT to build several freeway connector ramps around town.

Those ramps include the Gulf Freeway southbound ramp to 610 South Loop westbound, the 610 East Loop connector ramp to the Gulf Freeway northbound, and the Gulf Freeway from Spur 5 to US-59.

A third party surety company will now find new contractors for these projects. There will be no additional cost to taxpayers, other than time and delays. We contacted Tradeco, but they have not responded.
