Big rig accident closes several lanes on US-59 southbound at Sweetwater

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Traffic at US-59 southbound at Sweetwater Boulevard has come to a near standstill after a big rig accident this morning.

The flatbed truck appears to have been carrying two large pieces of some type of machinery.

There's no word of serious injuries.

The Texas Department of Transportation says they will have to shut down all lanes when they begin to upright the rig.

One lane of traffic is now getting by.
