HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A teenager accused in the violent murder of a Houston man is now set to stand trial as an adult.

The alleged suspect, Alferis Colby was just 15 years old when police say he pulled the trigger. He appeared before a judge today on some very serious charges.

Coby arrived in court this morning, transferred from the juvenile court system where he's been certified to stand trial as an adult for the charges of capital murder and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

Today was simply a probable cause hearing, which the judge did find, and the beginning of his journey in the adult justice system. Coby is accused of shooting and killing a man in Midtown, in March, in the process of stealing his car and cell phone.

Earlier in the evening, authorities say he's accused of shooting and trying to rob another man in the same area.
