Houston and Dallas rivalry continues in virtual world

The Houston and Dallas rivalry has moved into the virtual world. Overwatch League, a worldwide competitive video game league, has the two Texas cities going head-to-head in its inaugural preseason.

The teams are already trash talking each other on Twitter.

Competitive video games is a thing? It certainly is.

The franchise buy-in fee for each of the 12 Overwatch league teams was $20 million. The 12 franchise teams include ownership from the New England Patriots, the New York Mets, the Sacramento Kings and the Miami Heat.

The league's games are currently held at Blizzard Arena Los Angeles, but next season the Houston team hopes to have a home arena in the Houston area.

In the mean time, you can cheer on the Houston Outlaws as they take on the Dallas Fuel Thursday, Dec. 7th at 6 p.m. via the Overwatch League site.
