Parking lot gives way to tanker truck
This was the scene in west Houston Friday, where the pavement gave way under the weight of the truck.

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- A tanker truck has been pulled out of a massive hole that opened up beneath it in west Houston on Friday.

It happened on Town and Country Boulevard near I-10. The truck was above an underground parking garage when the pavement gave way. The parking garage had been filled with water from this week's flooding and the tanker truck was there to pump it out.

By 6:30pm, crews had managed to pull the truck out of the hole. No injuries were reported.

According to a sign visible near the truck, the upper level of the garage is not rated to support vehicles over 4,400 pounds, which is about the weight of a full-size sedan.
