T-Rex to debut at Meyer Park in Spring
The artist said he made the large T-Rex by hand for kids who are unable to visit the museum to see dinosaurs.

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Get ready for a real-life Jurassic Park right here in the Houston area.

Meyer Park in Spring will soon be home to a full-grown T-Rex created out of wood.

The artist behind this one-of-a-kind sculpture, John Gordy, said the T-Rex is 26 feet long, 9 feet high and 3 feet wide.

"She is way bigger than I expected," Gordy said.

Gordy said he made the T-Rex for children who are unable to visit any local museums to see dinosaurs.

It should be set up at Meyer Park in a couple weeks.
