Woman surrenders after SWAT standoff in southeast Houston

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Police took a woman into custody after a SWAT standoff in southeast Houston.

Just minutes before noon, police received a call of shots fired. Then at about 12:10 p.m., SWAT officers were called to a home in the 11300 block of Murr Way where the woman was barricaded inside with children in the home.

Witnesses told officers the woman had opened fire at a man in the backyard, then went inside and refused to come out.

No injuries were reported.

The incident remains under investigation.
