UH's Major Applewhite to serve as grand marshal for Rodeo Houston parade

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- As the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Parade rolls thorough town, there will be a new, yet familiar face waving at the crowd.

New University of Houston head coach, Major Applewhite, has been selected as this year's grand marshal.

Applewhite says he is excited for the opportunity.

"Tremendous amount of pride that the city has in it," Applewhite said.
