Toro, Orbit, Shasta and more compete in Mascot Bowl

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Toro's Mascot Bowl featuring local mascots and the South Texas Youth Football Association Brazosport Longhorns took place on field during halftime.

The mascots included University of Houston's Shasta and Sasha, Rice's Sammy, the Astros' Orbit, the Dynamo's Diesel, the Skeeters' Swatson, TSU's Tommy and of course the Texans' Toro.

The mascots also performed a Disney skit in the first quarter. The events were part of Texans Kids Day. Texans Kids Day highlights the National Football League's PLAY 60 initiative, a campaign that encourages kids to be active for 60 minutes a day in order to reverse the trend of childhood obesity.
