COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KTRK) -- It's a big day in Aggieland. Jimbo Fisher makes his position as the new Texas A&M football coach official.
The university president approved a $75 million contract at a board meeting this morning before was introduced as the new Aggies head coach.
He was welcomed to the university in style Sunday, arriving on the Texas A&M private jet, a maroon carpet and the Cadet Band.
The contract's length is said to last 10 years. It's the richest contract in college football history.

Fans think he's worth it. Many believe he will bring Aggies a national championship.
Others on Facebook and around campus are questioning where the money is coming from.
The university just approved a tuition hike of nearly four percent for next year, saying the increase was necessary to adjust for inflation and to provide for increased services.
No word yet if ticket prices at Kyle Field will go up for next season.
