HOUSTON (KTRK) -- The Seven Lakes soccer program is having a breakout year.

Entering the regional playoffs, they face their stiffest challenge yet against Dobie High School.

A victory over the Longhorns would ensure their best season in the program's existence.

"We are making a name," said Alejandro Suarez. "One more round and it is the furthest this team has ever made it."

"I think it's the chemistry. We are friends, we are a family, all over the board, I think we are going to make it far this year," Raul Ekmeiro added.

Head coach Jim Krueger is a bit superstitious. He has not shaved in months.

"I don't like to shave when good things are going good. We haven't lost since February 21," said Krueger.

The Spartans have an intense practice regimen, treating it like a game.

"You have to train like you are in a game," said Krueger. "That intensity, that competitiveness, it's what we have done since day one."
