Pearland wins LLWS opener
The Pearland All-Stars are 1-0 in the Little League World Series

WILLIAMSPORT, TX (KTRK) -- Rain kept Pearland's Little League All Stars off the field Thursday in Williamsport, but nothing could stop the team from putting in a great performance today in front of a crowd of 10,423 at Lamade Stadium.

In the first inning, it was apparent the pitchers got plenty of rest. Northwest pitcher Dylan MacLean used 15 pitches to strike out the side. Then Pearland All Star Jarrett Tadlock used 13 pitches to strike out the side in the bottom of the inning.

In the top of the second inning, Pearland batters sit down in order on 3 more strike outs by MacKean.

Tadlock answers by getting Oregon Catcher Cooper Shaw to ground out. Tadlock then records two more strike outs of his own keeping the scoreless tie intact.

In the top of the third MacLean gets Pearland's Raffi Gross to ground out. Then records two more strike outs.

In the bottom of the 3rd Tadlock gets Oregon's Kaden Segel to ground out.

Northwest All Star Kyle Oslund tries to bunt his way on base burt good defense keeps Oregon off the bases. After another Tadlock strike out the teams remained deadlocked at 0-0 through 3.

Top of the 4th Pearland's Isaac Garcia gets the first hit and first run of the game sending a solo home run deep over the left field fence giving Pearland a 1-0 lead.

In the home half of the 4th, Tadlock gives up his first hit of the game, a 2 out single to Spencer Scott before getting Cooper Shaw to hit into a fielder's choice to 3rd to end the inning and keep Oregon off the board.

After a scoreless 4th Pearland manager Andrew Solomon pulls pitcher Jarrett Tadlock after one out in the 5th. Isaac Garcia then gets 2 fast outs to preserve the 1-0 lead.

In the top of the 6th Oregon keeps Pearland from adding to its lead, but in the final frame Oregon can't get on the board Pearland wins 1-0.

Pearland's winning streak in tournament reaches 15 with the victory in Williamsport. The team gets to rest Saturday before taking the field again Sunday.
