Meet the youngest runner in the Aramco Houston Half Marathon

HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Kaylee Parker is just 8 years old and will soon be able to cross a half marathon off her bucket list.

"I ran last year, and I saw a little boy run by me, he could not have been 7 or 8 years old. She said, 'I want to do it,'" mom Dawn told ABC13 with a big smile.

Kaylee completed her first run at the age of 3 at Walt DIsney World.

"At 5 years old she surprised me and did a 5k with me. Ever since then, she just started loving running even more," said Dawn. "I couldn't be more proud of her for just Wanting to WANT to do it," Dawn said.

"I run because it's really fun. It's really relaxing. It's really good for you. And most of all it's just REALLY fun," Kaylee told ABC13.
