Go Coogs: Game against OU brings excitement, national attention

All eyes are on the University of Houston as they prepare to play Oklahoma University on Saturday

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Excitement is building this morning on the University of Houston campus.

Cougar Nation is getting revved up for tomorrow's huge football game against the Oklahoma Sooners.

UH President Renu Khator talked exclusively with us about the big game.

"Feeling like it's such a big moment for us to showcase the University of Houston on the national platform," Khator says.

Khator said she is excited and nervous about Saturday's game being featured on national TV and right here on abc13.

Cougar fan Steve Rodriguez thinks it's going to help build spirit on campus.

"It's great, it's really great," Rodriguez says. "I've never seen it like this. Everybody is excited."

Another fan, Victor Egiesi, says it's going to be one more notch in the Coogs' belt.

"I'm very excited," Egiesi said. "We went to the Peach Bowl, we won."
