Baby stops crying watching Dallas Cowboys

DALLAS -- The Dallas Cowboys may have been knocked out of the NFL playoffs Sunday but they still have a big fan in a 3-month-old girl.

Laura Catron was 21 weeks pregnant when her baby was diagnosed with a congenital heart defect.

"Every time we kept going to the doctor, we kept finding out it was worse," the first-time mother recalled to ABC News.

As the family was spending a night in the hospital they tried to comfort Lola after her second surgery.

"I tried singing. I tried rocking her, putting on cartoons. I put on 'Paw Patrol,' she didn't like it. We were trying everything and then my mom was like, 'She loves watching football with her dad. Put that on,'" Catron recalled to KDAF.

That's when Catron and her husband of nearly two years Bryan, got a glimmer of hope.

Lola stopped crying.

"On Sundays, we'd watch the game, and she wouldn't get poked that day. Maybe watching that, she feels safe," Laura said. "It's the funniest thing, but she loves it. I always thought it was sitting with her dad."

The mother filmed exactly what happened so she could share it with her husband and later put it on Facebook where it not only went viral, but got the attention of the Dallas Cowboys organization.

They tweeted, "We love Lola, she's helping us #FinishThisFight."

They even sent the family Cowboys gear for Lola to wear while she's watching their games.

"Thank you so much, Cowboys, and thank you for tweeting about her. Thank you for spreading the word of CHD awareness because thats what I wanted," said Catron.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help Lola's parents with her medical bills.

"'Im going to find a cure for my daughter. I'm going to find something that will make her be able to run and play sports and have a baby because I dont know how Im going to tell her that she cant have a baby. I dont know how," said Catron.
