HOUSTON (KTRK) -- Offseason additions have only added to the optimism surrounding the Houston Astros in 2017.

ABC13's David Nuño sat down with General Manager Jeff Luhnow to look ahead to a new season. They touched on a number of topics, including the optimism leading into the new season.

"This is the first year since I've been with the Astros that I really feel that we have done everything we can to have a team that can not only compete for the division, and truly, the expectations are high," said Luhnow.

When asked if Jose Altuve can do anymore on the field, other than what he has already done, he said, "He hits for high average, two batting titles, three silver sluggers, he is the heart and soul of our team."
