The Fresno Grizzlies might want to consider permanently changing their name to the Fresno Tacos.

On Tuesday morning, the Houston Astros' Triple-A affiliate announced that for a Taco Throwdown game on Aug. 6, the team would change its name to the Tacos and wear taco-themed jerseys and hats.

In the first 50 hours after the announcement, the team's website sold nearly 900 hats bearing the taco logo. Compare that to the 16 Fresno Grizzlies hats the team sold in the first three weeks of July.

"We've received orders from all but nine U.S. states, plus Canada, New Zealand and South Africa," team general manager Derek Franks told ESPN.com. "We've already had to reorder our original supply."

Franks said the organization is fortunate to have two talented employees who came up with the design so the team didn't have to go to an outside agency.

The Taco Throwdown, which has turned into an annual event, will feature nearly 20 taco trucks from the area.

Franks said the Tacos nickname was supposed to be a one-time thing, but since the design struck a viral chord, management will discuss whether to make the name change more permanent.
