Investigators say a woman is on the run after stabbing a man while driving in southwest Houston

HPD says while the man was driving, a woman pulled out a knife and stabbed him.

The driver ended up losing control of the vehicle and spun out after hitting the median. He was then involved in a head-on wreck with a Chevy Tahoe.

Meantime, the woman allegedly had someone following their car in a different vehicle. Police say she managed to get out of the wrecked car and jumped into the getaway vehicle. Now she is on the run.

The man was rushed to the hospital, but is expected to survive.

We do not yet have a description of the suspect or the vehicle she allegedly got away in.

For a short time, HPD had the inbound lanes of the Southwest Freeway closed as they investigated the crash. The freeway has now reopened.
