HOUSTON -- Dr. Luis Torres, Associate Professor in the Graduate College of Social Work at the University of Houston, discusses his research on Hispanic families. He discusses the importance of respecting the gatekeepers of Latino communities, in particular religious and community leaders.

He also talks about the gains made by Hispanics going to college. The 2012 college freshmen class was the first where more Hispanics enrolled than non-Hispanics.
