HOUSTON -- HPD Sergeant Steve Wick and Amanda Cloud of the Simmons Foundation discuss the Houston Police Department's innovative "Homeless Outreach Team" - which works to get the homeless off the streets and into housing and get them access to medical assistance.

The Simmons Foundation is one of the organizations partnering with the HOT program to get the homeless back on their feet. Houston has the largest homeless population in Texas and eighth largest in the United States. The program has changed the way the homeless look at the Police Department and vice versa.
