Bikes designed by UH students
What started as an idea to build bikes designed specifically for Houston cyclists has turned into a company

HOUSTON (KTRK) -- As urban living gains more popularity in Houston, some University of Houston students hope to fill a transportation need.

They plan to do it with bikes, designed for the specific needs of bayou city riders. The "porter comfort bicycle" is one of three prototypes. It's built as an everyday bike, with front and rear racks and a panier bag system.

The students also formed a company named "tau" with which the bikes are branded. They hope to get the prototypes into production soon.
