The Woodlands marks 40 years of hometown growth

THE WOODLANDS, TX -- It's a town that went from humble beginnings to one of the Greater Houston area's most popular living destinations over the last 40 years.

More than 100,000 people call The Woodlands home and with its booming economic landscape, the number of residents is expected to continue rising.

In celebrating the town's 40th anniversary Sunday at Northshore Park on Lake Woodlands Drive, the focus was on the past, present and future.
