Student overcome with emotion after fellow student replace stolen gift

ANTIOCH, California (KTRK) -- A California classroom became an emotional scene, complete with tears, and even a few kisses.

Shawn Hawkins, an Antioch High School student, had written an emotional plea on a whiteboard asking for his stolen Nintendo 3DS be returned because it was a gift from his grandmother.

No one returned the stolen gift, but his fellow students did the next best thing.

Students Piper Stowe and Shawna Cantiliano raised enough money to buy a new Nintendo and surprised Hawkins with the new gift.

Hawkins was overcome with emotion, giving a classmate a huge hug and even a couple of kisses.

"You're a gift from God," said Hawkins.
