MILFORD, Connecticut (KTRK) -- Master Sgt. Joe Egersheim has been deployed in Kuwait for a year with the Army Reserve.

Last Friday, he dressed as a referee to surprise his kids at their high school football game.

His son Cole plays tight end, while his daughter Olivia is a cheerleader.

They were clearly overcome with emotion seeing their dad suddenly appear on the field.

The Egersheims say they are looking forward to getting back to normal as a complete family.
