PEARLAND, TX -- Pearland resident Dr. Peta-Gay Chen Ledbetter was recently selected from a pool of applicants to be Mrs. Pearland International 2015.

This contest is no typical pageant, however. Dr. Ledbetter was invited to apply for the title by the current Mrs. Texas International, Whitney Montgomery. Applicants are reviewed based on their morals, values, education and other humanitarian traits.

Dr. Ledbetter will compete in the Mrs. Texas International pageant in March in Garland, Tex. Should she take the crown, she would go on to compete for the Mrs. International title.

According to the website, the "Mrs. Texas International is open to married women age 21 to 56 as of July 1st of the competition year. We uplift women who want to excel in their lives and make a difference in their communities. We celebrate your energy, commitment to marriage and family, and your desire to challenge yourself.
