PEARLAND, TX -- Eagle Scout is the highest rank attainable in the Boy Scouts of America. In order to reach this rank, the Scout must earn at least 21 merit badges and demonstrate the spirit of the Boy Scouts through leadership and an extensive service project.

Pearland resident and Scout Ryan Ensmann with Troop 464 completed his Eagle Scout Service Project on May 24 at Sasser Park on Southfork.

"The purpose of my project was to teach kids of my community how to ride their bikes safely," said Ensmann. "We had stations set up for certain components of bike safety.

"First, there was a bike tune-up station where we checked the mechanics of each attendee's bike. Some of the kids' bikes required some repair, so they were able to get involved in the reparation of their bikes.
