WEST PALM BEACH, Florida (KTRK) -- Some parents are adding a new item to their back to school shopping list.

A Florida gun shop in West Palm Beach is selling bulletproof inserts that can fit inside of a child's backpack.

The owner of the shop says he's sold about 200 of the inserts in the past year.

They are designed to stop a bullet fired from a handgun.

The inserts weigh a little over a pound and cost about $125.
