New park coming to West University
Officials in West University Place are asking for the public's feedback about a planned park.

WEST UNIVERSITY PLACE, Texas (KTRK) -- Officials in West University Place want the public's help in designing a new park.

Through April 16, the city will accept feedback on several proposed designs for Jennie Hughes Park, which will sit on the 6400 block of Sewanee, not far from the intersection of W. Holcombe at Buffalo Speedway.

West U resident James M. Hughes donated the 15,000-square-foot residential property and $200,000 to the city under the condition that the lot be developed as a public park.

White Oak Studio was retained to design the property, and the firm has proposed three different designs, which are visible in the video above.

"Please be as specific as possible, and reference the letter of the design or the design name in your response. All comments will be reviewed at the next Task Force Meeting," city officials write.

Citizens can submit feedback to myparks@westutx.gov through April 16.
