Kayak, paddleboard rentals coming to Sugar Land Memorial Park

SUGAR LAND, Texas (KTRK) -- Here's another reason to head out and enjoy the great outdoors: you'll soon be able to rent kayaks and paddleboards at Sugar Land Memorial Park.

Beginning April 1, rentals will be available on weekends from 10 a.m. until 30 minutes before sunset. Each rental will cost $20 per hour, which can be paid directly to the attendant on duty.

Life jackets, which are required, will be provided at the time of rental.

By early summer, officials hope to offer instructional classes in addition to rentals.

Sugar Land Parks and Recreation Department is partnering with Bayou City Adventures to offer the rentals.
