CYPRESS, Texas (KTRK) -- A bride and groom had their wedding at Memorial Hermann Cypress Hospital after the bride collapsed just hours before their planned ceremony.

"I'd been feeling sick all week. As I was getting my hair and makeup done at a friend's house, I passed out. The next thing I remember, the paramedics were over me and I was taken to the hospital," said the bride, Kelly Bailey Blomberg.

Blomberg was transported to the ER at Memorial Hermann Cypress, where she was diagnosed with extreme dehydration and an upper respiratory infection.

"My family could tell there was no way I could make it through a ceremony and reception. Andrew, my now husband, told me it didn't matter where we got married. He would marry me right there," she said.

A member of the bridal party asked about the hospital chapel, and employees began planning a ceremony.

Two hours later, the bridal party and family donned their wedding attire. The planned ceremony and reception with 140 guests was reduced to an intimate affair with just their family and closest friends.

"It's not the way I planned, but it was still very sweet and I wouldn't change it for the world. We're married and that's all that matters. I am very thankful to everyone at the hospital, along with my family and friends, for making it happen," said Blomberg.

Newlyweds Andrew and Kelly Blomberg plan to hold their reception at a later date at their original venue.
