Harvey forces bride to push wedding date back
Harvey forced bride to push wedding date back, Steve Campion reports.

BAYTOWN, Texas (KTRK) -- A Baytown bride pushed back her wedding after Hurricane Harvey flooded her home and reception venue.

Veronica Cardona said she was supposed to marry the love of her life, Daniel Lee Nuckol, on Sept. 2. Instead of walking down the aisle, she continued the cleanup process and went to work.

"It just kind of hit me, you know. So I went in my office, I cried for all about 15 seconds, I dried my face, I went back out and continued my shift," said Cardona. "It makes us really appreciate each other without all of this other stuff."

The couple is living in a hotel room as repairs are made to their home. Cardona said the flood brought them closer together. They've leaned on each other to get through the natural disaster and already rescheduled their wedding for November.

They've postponed their honeymoon until next year.

Cardona said she left her wedding dress behind during the flood. Her sister-in-law returned in a boat and moved the gown to the attic.
