Citizen organization purchases new bikes for Pearland Police

The Pearland Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association (PCPAAA) donated eight fully equipped Cannondale 29er Law Enforcement 1 patrol bicycles to the Pearland Police Department on Friday (May 1).
The gear cost the organization $16,000.

"This is why we exist," said PCPAAA President Bill Pyeatt. "We get requests for things that the Department needs that are above and beyond the City budget."

"The men and women of the Pearland Police Department demonstrate an unparalleled level of professionalism and commitment to the community in which they serve. Anytime the PCPAAA is able to support the department in acquiring resources that enhance their ability to 'protect and serve,' we are more than happy to step up and assist.
